About Lale

As a student, I know the importance of feeling comfortable with the tutor or teacher and focus on the goals. I create an environment in which students feel free to ask questions or text me whenever needed. I try to stay on unclear questions or topics as much as possible. Whether the student asks the same question 20 times, the important thing for me is that he understands the subject and feels confident. I create a plan with the student to achieve the desired goal and make regular progress.

I love history and teaching it. I know how crucial it is for one's comprehension and knowledge in history and how it's essential to think critically and create arguments and support them. My parents are both historians, and ever since I know myself, my life blended with history and the figures it contains. I want to teach students history that will help them evaluate current situations, see what is repeating in the past, and change this repetition as an individual.

During my AP exams, I started giving short lessons to students in my community to help their exams, which marks the start of my tutoring career. I know how hard, especially if you self-study, to prepare for exams like APs or SATs. I decided to help other students like me make the process easier. I'm also a volunteer tutor in my school and help students who are not native in English and struggle to learn. Most students' English level is up to B2 from A1 after our sessions with tutoring and regular studying sessions.

About the lesson

After the first meeting and introduction, we talk about the student's goals and dreams to make a plan to reach the target goal or objective. We discuss how to approach the desired goal step by step, what to do. The planned phase is the first part of the process since focusing on what the student wants and making his dreams come true is my primary goal. The lessons we will do afterward are shaped according to the student's understanding of the lesson. The lessons are continued by focusing on the parts that he/she struggles and we build a solid foundation to succeed in our goal.

I mainly worked with AP students from 10th to 11th grade, tutored in AP Macroeconomics, European History, and Psychology.

If you are studying AP courses like History or Psychology that contain lots of writing, be sure that your teacher focuses on the basics of writing FRQs, SAQs, etc. It is crucial, especially for history classes, to be able to state and support your argument using documents and/or historical events you've learned.

I recently went to the seaside with my family and watched the stars, which you might find weird, but we can't see any stars in the city. It's good to see the stars and imagine the universe and how small we are when we think about a constantly expanding universe.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
There are two important questions you must state which are:

1) In which subjects you have difficulty or do not feel comfortable.

2) How you learn: Visually, by writing, by hearing, etc.
