About Rachel
I am an honors college student who is very passionate about social studies, writing, and reading. I am a College Board National Merit Scholar with Honor, and specialize in AP courses. I also tutor these subjects at the elementary and middle school level.
I have been an online tutor on another site for nearly a year, and really want to broaden the number of students I am able to help. I tutor a few students per week, and currently have a 5 star overall rating.
As I am currently working on my degree to become a teacher myself someday, my tutoring style is based on helping students take what they already know and build and expand on it. I am always willing to provide resources and practive materials to give students the support they need to feel confident and be successful in their courses. I'm here to provide the extra support they need in a positive manner!
I have prior experience as a tutor and teacher, I have been doing this sort of work throughout high school and college. I also have my Child Development Associates Credential. The College Board awarded me the title of a National Merit Scholar with Honor in 2020. I currently work as an online tutor on another tutoring program.

I like to ask for some details or examples of the current topics or area that the student is working in, so that I can get a feel for what exactly they will be needing assistance with. On our first tutoring session, I ask a lot of questions that can help me guage the student's strengths and areas we can improve on in terms of skills and content.
I've worked with elementary general education, middle schoolers in writing, social studies, and reading, and high schoolers taking social studies and improving their writing skills. I work frequently with students taking AP World History, AP United States History, AP European History, and AP Psychology.
