About Nina

This past year I studied for the LSAT and I've learned various methods for each of the sections and created my own strategies and techniques to conquer the LSAT. Through learning a variety of methods and setting a doable schedule, I myself increased my score by 10 points from a 165 to a 175. Because I have just finished studying for the LSAT, I really understand the frustrations of long term study and have solutions to cope with those frustrations and have methods to get you to the next level even after long term stalling and only few point increases from the usual prep material study. I understand that each person is unique in how they learn and the circumstances in which they are studying and want to work with YOUR methods rather than the so-called "tried and true" methods of large companies. This means after a phone consultation, I will develop a personalized study plan that retrains old study habits and builds on existing knowledge and skill.

I have long enjoyed teaching and tutoring anything from English and college essays to SAT prep to dance. The LSAT posed a unique challenge for me as I had no background in the logical reasoning and analysis expected of the LSAT. Even Reading Comprehension was quite unlike the Reading Comprehension of the PSAT and SAT. It took me a while to even figure out how to approach the various sections but once I did, I saw conditional and causal statements everywhere I looked. I realized how quickly my understanding of the test and thus my outlook on arguments from the familial to the global had changed. I realize that many people could benefit from learning to think in this way beyond just improving on the LSAT will really benefit each of us in law school.

About the lesson

Look for someone who is both knowledgable and empathetic. This person should be willing to work with your skill set and background and personalize their study plan to your needs. Furthermore, they should be asking you questions early on to gauge your understanding and skills you bring to the LSAT.

They should consider where they are in their study (whether they are just beginning or have stalled in progress after months of study), their timeline (when they need to take the LSAT and their particular time constraints), their specific goals (schools they are interested in, financial aid goals, point increases), their LSAT priorities (where they need to make the greatest increases), and a general idea of how they study.
