About Camila
I am currently a law student and have been tutoring for over 10 years. I’ve tutored students in a variety of subjects ranging from general study skills for younger students (elementary and middle school) to college statistics, calculus and economics to LSAT prep. I feel comfortable working with students of all ages and tailor my approaches to the specific students needs based on their age, learning style and the subject. I tend to adhere more to a hand on method of teaching. I think seeing examples of how to correctly arrive at the answer is invaluable to students learning new skills. In order to make sure they don’t become disconnected from the material however, it is important for me that they are doing the problem alongside me. I will never just give the answer or show how to do the problem on my own. Walking them through step by step so they see how to reach the answer makes it an engaging experience that will help students learn better.
I love teaching and working with students because it allows me to give back to other people the knowledge I’ve been fortunate enough to have great teachers and tutors share with me. I also enjoy working with all different types of people and think tutoring is a great way to work outside of my specific career bubble.
i have been tutoring the LSAT for over a year and tutored the SAT for 6 years before that. I understand how difficult standardized testing can be for many students and how individualized help can allow many to show their skills and knowledge on such particular tests. My tutoring experiences have led to my love for helping students reach their maximum potential. My LSAT students have all seen great success raising their scores by an average of 10 points all scoring in ir above the 97th percentile.
