About Avery

Im a mathematics major at Georga Institute of Technology and have experience in all middle school and high school math along with 1 or 2 college topics. Ive loved math for as long as I can remember and I also love helping people. Im great with small children and in general a very chill person to be around. Ive done a semester of research on advanced mathematics and plan to do more.

Ive always had a passion for math, not only was it the only thing I was good at, but I knew that by using it I could do great things. Altough math is infamously terrible, I truly think that math is one of the most important things you can know and I love spreading my joy and knowledge about math. No one else loves math more than me.

About the lesson

Definitely start with a base undertstanding of what they know, what they need help with, some goal they want to reach, how they learn best, and what they dislike/ like about the subject.

Ive never professionaly tutored someone before but all throught high school ive always been the one people come to for math help. I also have two young neices (ages 4 and 10) who often need some guidance with school work. Im a very easy going person and very friendly so I work well with everyone.

Recently, ive had the opportunity to do a bit of research of my own choosing at Tech. I was able to not only study a certain type of math (that obviously fascinated me) but I was able to create my own piece. A totally unique structure that was possible by math. Plus, I got to name it (after my dog Athena). Im just very proud of what I accomplished and love to tell people about Athena's fractal set.
