About Kait
I have been teaching for 13 years at the high school level. I have a bachelors in Elementary Education. Additionally, I have a certifications in Special Education (N-21) and Middle Level Mathematics. I recently earned a certification for online and blended learning instruction. I have experience working with all types of learners at all age groups (Kindergarten - 12th grade). I excel at breaking down material to fit the needs of each student. I work hard to plan lessons that cater to each child's needs. I like to think outside the box when it comes to lesson planning in order to improve learning and comprehension. As a teacher, I have been evaluated at a distinguished level for multiple years by my supervisors.
I became an educator because I love teaching and I also love to learn. Nothing is more rewarding than helping learners to achieve success. Being able to see students make progress and show growth is the most rewarding experience a person can ask for.
I have always wanted to be a teacher. I went to college for a bachelors in education and was employed immediately after college graduation.
I have been a special education and math teacher for 13 years in a public school district. I have also many different tutoring experiences. I work with students in all levels. I also have experience providing online instruction and support.

I like to get to know a student's strengths and weaknesses in the subject that I am working on. I like to get to know what the student can do well and what areas the student needs support and instruction in to improve upon. I like to develop a positive rapport so that the student feels comfortable to ask questions and to understand that it's okay to make mistakes. It's important to build trust and understanding when working together.
With my background in special education, I have worked with all types and levels of learners. I have experience working with learners with ADHD, OHI, SLD, ED, Autism, IDD, Hearing Impairment, Speech Impairment, Vision Impairment and more. I have also worked with students that need that little extra support or confidence in order to grasp new concepts.
Make sure that the teacher you hire makes you feel comfortable. It is important to build a trust so that you are free and willing to ask questions. Be sure that you hire a teacher that teaches the content, not just helps with the homework assignments.

Perfect! Mrs. K is great to work with! My son really enjoys working with her. She helps present information in an easy-to-understand way. She provides problems ahead of them that they will work on together and then provides a summary after the tutoring session. I highly recommend her as a tutor.
