About Colby

I have a passion for math and the opportunity to share what I know while helping others.

After taking math courses in high school and college, I found myself being able to assist others around me in large scales, and I enjoyed being able to share my knowledge of the subjects.

I have gone through 3 years of an applied mathematics major, and I specialize in math up to and through Calculus 2 and 3. I have taken courses up through Partial Differential Equations and will finish my degree by Summer 2022.

About the lesson

Finding out what specifically they struggle with, and targeting that area of the course through various different techniques.

I have worked mostly with my own peers, as I have been taking Calculus level and higher courses since my Junior year of high school. I was proficient enough in high school to tutor Calculus while taking Calculus 2 at the same time, and that ability continued thoughout my college years.

I would look for someone who is able to speak in terms that you understand. There are a lot of intelligent people out there, and while they are incredible, some struggle with being able to communicate methodologies behind their processes in terms of someone who is new to the topic. I strive to be able to communicate clearly and in simple terms.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Truly consider whether or not what you need is a biproduct of misunderstanding material, or your work ethic. Procrastination and boredom are things that can make someone feel as though they need outside help. Make sure that you are able to self reflect on how you approach problems. If you then decide that you do indeed need help, that is exactly what I am here for.
