About Heidi

I am a patient tutor who works step by step to help students understand mathematics and feel more confident in their skills to continue learning mathematics. I have previously done peer-to-peer tutoring in a variety of subjects for over 4 years.

I enjoy helping them others make connections. It's not necessarily about instructing someone to do something, but to guide a student along so their confidence and understanding will increase in the subject. It's exciting to me to see others go from struggling to excitement as they become more confident in their own abilities to grasp a subject. I don't ever want them to look at a subject and think "I'm not smart enough." I believe all are and am willing to take the time to help them find out just how capable they are in taking on new problems.

I have tutored in maths, language arts, and spanish since I was in elementary school myself. Although I used to tutor for free, I now recognize that I can help others even more by expanding my tutoring through business services. Tutoring isn't just a job, but a joy!

About the lesson

I have worked with a variety of ages and variety of confidence levels. Some students need only a small push in the right direction. Other students may need a step by step walk through to help them understand. Young or old, I aim to help all levels in their understanding.

Look for someone you feel comfortable working with and who will work with you! The more comfortable you feel, the easier it will be to learn.
