About EMILY
I am currently a sophomore Early Childhood Education major in univeristy. Despite switching my major from Biology this past summer, I still have a great love for biology and math, and those are my strongest content areas right now. Since I want to be an elementary school teacher as well as getting certified in middle level science in the future, I really want to assist any students and their families I can by helping them succeed in these subjects. I have tutored my classmates and coworkers since I was in highschool in my free time when I was not working my part time job, helping them pass classes and keystone tests.
For me, the most enjoyable part of tutoring and teaching is watching the students build their self confidence in the material. I love the look they have when they feel like they finally understand what to do in a problem, and can solve it on their own. They become more in confident in themselves, and I love that I can assist them in that process.

Depending on the age, I will typically just start out by talking to the student about what they feel like they need help in/the areas that they need clarification on. From there I will start to work with them and try do a few practice problems so that I can really see what they need more help with.
