About Jeilin
My goal as a tutor is to truly connect with the child and teach them in a way they understand the material, student to student. I will put my best foot forward to help you understand the lessons and concepts and make it stick! In addition, I will be using Khan Academy and my own handwritten notes to help students in the right direction.
This is my very first time tutoring and I am extremely excited and passionate about teaching those younger than me. I am a junior in high school taking five AP classes, study aerospace engineering and I am one grade ahead in all math cirriculum.
I have been enrolled in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) program since the beginning of middle school and I have attended multiple summer programs specializing in robotics and mathematics. I have passed all of my math classes, recieving 4's and 5's on all of my math exams.
I enjoy seeing the light bulb flash in a child's mind when they finally understand the material and concepts. It is a great feeling to know that I got through to them and they will be able to utilize this when taking a test or during a homework assignment.
I started teaching my siblings and it became noticable that I am good at teaching younger students math and some other subjects. This is my first time ever tutoring so I really want to do my best. If there is anything I can do to better myself or accomodate anything to your child's needs, PLEASE let me know. I will always by open to respectful critique.
I am an 11th gradeer in high school (junior year) and I am a grade ahead in math, currently taking AP Statistics. I have a Mastery (Level 5) in Algebra 1 and I am proficient (Level 4) in Algebra 2. I regularly teach my younger siblings who are in the 8th and 5th grade. As a student I may have had the same struggles that your child has so teaching them, student to student, can be beneficial.

When first meeting a student I would like to know what they are having trouble with and give them an assessment to gain a better understanding of where they are. Once I do that I am able to make a lesson plan and help them understand and remember the material. Practice makes perfect, so I will give them certain days to review notes or do a few questions to make sure what they have learned sticks in their head.
I mostly work with students younger than I am. Elementary and Middle school students are my main focus. If your child is in high school however I can't help with that and I think it wold be better to seek a professional tutor. Still, I trust in my abilities to teach younger students and help them understand the material the best I can. Sadly I have never worked with students who have disabilities so I am not much help in that and I sincerely apologize. If I can help you contact a better tutor for the job I will certainly try.

Details
I would like the minimum of most of my lessons to be $15. I don't care so much about the money, I care about making sure these kids understand what they are doing so they are confident in their work. If parents are willing to pay a higher price I don't mind but if you can't meet those requirements I am willing to lower the price. Again I am a teenager, money is not as important to me at the time. Just tell me your financial situation and what you are willing to pay we can surely come to a sound agreement.
