About Jason
The feeling of explaining a complicated math concept several different ways is one of my favorite things. During one of those explainations, the person hearing the concept should soon get the gears going in their head. Once that happens, that moment of "I understand this now" is expressed in their face, and that feeling is one of the best joys of being a teacher.
I got started tutoring / teaching in 10th grade of high school after one of my friends asked me for help in one of our shared math classes. It translated from that help to me working for a tutoring center and continuing that work throughout college. Ever since then I have grown fond of the practice of teaching and have let it become my profession.
I have been a tutor for the past 8 years and during those 8 years I have worked with kindergarden students all the way up to Senior Level College Courses. In addition to that, I am gearing up to go into my second year of teaching middle school math.

When working with a new student I like to see where the foundation on which we use to build in learning math, has a few soft spots and we build from there back up. In my experience of tutoring for almost 8 years is that students who work backwards (and build that foundation) have an easier chance of understanding the new things as they are taught.
I have worked with small kindergarden students learning how to count and basic addition, all the way to helping peers in courses like Calculus 3, Differential Equations, and other things in college. In addtion to those widely different subjects, have worked with elementary school students, middle school students, and high school students.
