About Tiffany

I have been teaching Math (Algebra mostly) to middle and high school age students for 14 years. I have a B.S. in Education with a focus in math and a Masters degree in Education. I have taught students in all levels of math from remedial math up to honors level math classes.

I love working with children and love celebrating their successes as we work together to further their math skills.

I have had a passion for working with children and for math/science for a very long time. Combining the two made perfect sense for me!

B.S. in Education from Holy Family University

M.Ed from Cabrini University

14 years experience teaching in public middle/high school

14 years experience doing homebound instruction and private tutoring.

About the lesson

I ask that the student have materials ready for our first session, preferably a text book, recent assignments and recent tests. It is helpful to have an idea of what topics they have recently struggled with so that I can bring supplemental materials if needed. During our sessions, I will guide them through as many examples as are needed until I fee that the student is prepared to try independently. I will then have the student try some problems independently until they can prove mastery of the concept. I will have the student walk me through the process verbally as well as on paper so that I know that they fully understand the concept.

I have worked very closely with honors level students, academic level students and also with students with IEP’s and learning disabilities.

I love when my students tell me that a concept that they have struggled with for a long time finally makes sense because of the way I have broken it down and explained it to them. I love to witness their “A-ha!” moments!
