About Jason
Hi, I'm Jason! I have been tutoring for 4 years in Spanish and Mathematics, with a bit of Chemistry and English as well. I graduated Oak Park High School with a 4.3 GPA and I currently have a 3.94 GPA at Moorpark College. I plan on transferring to University of California Los Angeles and studying biology with the hopes of attending medical school after. Over my 4 years of tutoring, I have helped many students achieve and expand their potential. My philosophy for tutoring, and learning in general, is that hard work and the correct study tools produce extraordinary results. Let's do this!
When I was in 10th grade, a friend of mine asked me to help him with Spanish, which I understood quite well. I helped for the entire semester and discovered how gratifying it is to help somebody succeed in something that they would have stuggled in without my help.
I am a student at Moorpark College currently, and I plan to transfer to the University of California Los Angeles to study biology, and then attend medical school afterwards. During

With any new student, I like to do a basic evaluation to see where we need to start. Once we find an appropriate starting point, I like to work with the student to build their knowledge through conceptual understanding and practice!
I have worked with a wide range of students. The youngest student I have had was in seventh grade boy, and the oldest I have had was a woman in her second year of college. As well as age, I have had students with largely different academic dispositions, including different strengths and weaknesses and different ways for the students to learn effectively.
Jump right in! Do not be intimidated by teachers/tutors and do not be shy about asking questions and asking for extra help. Personally, I appreciate when a student is honest about their level of understanding for a subject so that I can find a pace and teaching style that works for the student. Everybody learns differently, so there is no reason to hold back.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Some questions that students should ask themselves before talking to a teacher/tutor are: Do I understand the basic concept? Have I studied? Have I practiced?
