About Carley

My service stands out because I tailor tutoring to the individual needs of the student. I design a personalized program to target areas for improvement based on testing and research-proven instructional strategies.

I have been a teacher for two years and am certified in the state of Texas with endorsements in reading, English, math, science, social studies, and special education from prekindergarten to eighth grade. I have formal experience tutoring both in-person and virtually over Zoom. This September, I expect to have my Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

My passion and fulfillment come from seeing the progress and success of my students. I live for the moments when I see students understanding and retaining the material, as well as being more confident in their abilities.

I have two years formal experience teaching middle school English, math, science, social studies, and reading to special education students. My Texas teaching certificate can be provided upon request.

I expect to have my Master of Education degree by September of 2022 and can provide a transcript upon request.

About the lesson

When working with a new student, I start by administering Brigance testing to determine what grade level they are performing at and what the areas of need are for their improvement.

I have worked with a wide variety of students, ranging from the general education population to special education in self-contained settings. Specific disabilities I have experience working with are: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), dyslexia, dysgraphia, learning disability, intellectual disability, speech impairment, traumatic brain injury, ADD/ADHD, and other health impairments.
