About Neal
We are a group of high achieving UC students looking to give current high schoolers and other undergrads the tips and tricks that we used to ace tests, write application essays, and improve our GPAs.
I love teaching students, especially the feeling they get when some concept just clicks. I always feel great when my students come back after getting test results they're happy with and it reminds me of why I tutor in the first place!
During high school I tutored extensively for European history as well as coaching sports in high school. I then went on to study undergraduate admissions during my college to understand the admissions process.

I like to analyze students' scores, study habits, sports and extracurriculars, and other metrics to gain a holistic understanding of their priorities and how to improve their applications.
I've worked with students of all ages and backgrounds from stellar AP students looking to improve their essays to students looking to boost their GPA
I would advise students to look for a tutor who understands the holistic admissions process to best keep an understanding of a student's priorities for college admissions.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think students need to consider 1) Their tutor's background and whether or not their tutor is familiar with the education system. Oftentimes students choose tutors with heavy knowledge in the topic they teach but when it comes to grade improvement, these tutors fail to help as much. And 2) Their personal fit with their tutor. Connecting with a tutor on a personal level often opens up new and better pathways for understanding concepts compared to learning from a stranger.
