About Lisel

I am an accounting major at Brigham Young University in Hawaii. I love numbers and I want to share that passion with others! I am great with kids and can explain things clearly and simply!

I love watching the light go off when the students I work with understand the subject they were once struggling with. I love helping students realize their true potential and how much they are capable of.

My teachers and professors would actually recommend me to parents who were seeking tutors for their children.

In high school I was a math and spanish tutor for highschool, middle school, and elementary school students. I also took a crossage course where we went to the local elementary school and taught kindergarteners how to read and write. I loved working with them so much!

About the lesson

I will start off with what they already know and then find out which topic they are struggling with. I will explain the mechanics, demonstrate an example, we will solve a few problems together, and then allow the student to work them out on their own to ensure not only understanding but confidence in the topic.

I have worked with families from Bangladesh, Mexico, and from the United States. I have also worked with students who just need help focusing and getting their work done without being distracted, cram sessions before finals, students who want to improve their grades, and students who struggle with one specific topic and need help understanding.

Hire someone who will help you love the subject and not just make it feel like a dreaded check mark off a list.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
We may feel as though we know nothing at all but even when we sleep through lectures our brains retain some of the information in our subconscious mind. It is important to assess what we actually know and what we genuinely need help on. Ask yourself, "what exactly do I know about this topic?"
