Understanding what content the student is struggling with is important but even more important is why. I trailer the way I tutor towards maximizing the students ability to grasp the subject matter. This may be through games for those students who have a hard time paying attention, or through explaining concepts from a different angle than the text book until they have their “aha” moments.
