About Susan
My primary approach is to assist the student with homework and understanding conceps presented to them. I am a firm believer that all students don't learn the sam way and will strive to find an approach the works for the student. I also believe that students often can learn concepts if they are applied to something that is tied to real-world experiences. I am passionate about math as it explains how and why things work . I enjoy sharing my passion with students. I am available to provide enrichment and remedial opportunities.
I started tutoring because I enjoy working with students who may struggle with abstract concepts and ideas related to math.
I am patient and understanding.
I am able to adapt approaches to different student needs.
I helped my two sons when they were in middle school and high schoo.
I hve been working as and engineer for over 15 years. I have an extensive of working mathematical concepts.

I take time to get to know the student in the first session. What do they like to do, who they admire and why. I like to know what high school students' goals are for after high school.
Then, we will discuss math in particular. When their teacher asks them to get their math book out or they go to their math class what is there feelings, dreed, "I want to be anywhere but here"?
Then we will discuss what problems they are having in there class. What do they like about their math class?
Lastly we will look at the chapter they are studying and review and graded assignments, tests and quizzes.
I am an army veteren. As a veteran, vetern causes and activities are very important to me. I was honored to be able to attend the Memorial Day Obsrvance in downtown Madison. I was thrilled when I was able to shake hand with a full colonel.
