About Makayla

I am pretty avid in Math K-12 and Advanced Math Courses. I have worked with children from aged 5-14 and adolecents aged 16-21. Anyone is welcome, no matter what level of math or level of difficulty. I make sure I take my time with said student and be sure that they are able to learn as well as comprehend my teachings and the subject.

I enjoy helping others excell in areas they are lacking.

I've always been interested in helping students who are having a difficult time. I started early into my High School Years around Grade 9 and continued ever since.

I have done volunteer work at my school as a tutor as well as volunteered at churches to help younger children with their studies.

About the lesson

When working with a new student it's important to make sure that they are comfortable. For starters i enjoy a great introduction! Telling each other our name and three things we enjoy. I also find it important to figure out what type of learner they are to ensure that they are absorbing information through a way they can best understand. Whether they are Visual, Hands-on(Kinesthetic), Auditory, or Reading and Writing.

I have worked with students who are easy to speak with and are willing to learn, students who dislike the subject and are less open to learning but need to pass, students who have learning disabilities such as dislexia or ADHD, students who are illiterate or have difficulty reading, and students who have emotional outbursts such as anger or crying.

Be sure that you are comfortable with the person and that the person listens to you and take their time. Also be sure to look for someone who actually has knowledge in the area.

I am fond of Double Decker due to the countless many of people who come on the Square in the area I'm in.

Details

I charge $35 per hour for Low-Medium Difficulty Courses such as: Basic Math, or Math Grades 3-8.

For Difficult courses Such as Alegebra-AP Calculus or Math Grades 9-12, I charge $45 an hour due to how time consuming and complex the equations are.

I am available from 5pm-12am for services However if you are an older child and need help in later hours i will have to add an additional $10 due to the late time.
