About Nick
Being a tutor is more than helping a student improve their grade. It is about relating to the student on a personal level in order to help them enjoy and understand what they are learning. My goal is to help a student not only achieve their academic goals, but also relate to them on a social level to give the best advice and stratagies on navigating through middle and high school!
I have been tutoring through National Honors Society for 1 year now. After high school, I am looking to major in chemical engineering and I have been accepted to WPI (Worcester Polytechnic Institue) and UMASS.
During high school, I achieved a 1350 on my SAT, I have taken 7 AP classes, and I am an Eagle Scout. I am also a student athlete at Medway High School and I am in the top 20% of my class.
My goal through tutoring is to see my client not only grow in school, but in everyday life. Lessons will be focues around student needs and will revolve around how the student learns in order to serve them best! My goal is to not work for you, but to work with you, and I hope to help you reach your goals!

I was inducted into National Honors Society (NHS) as a junior in high school. Becoming a member in NHS requires a high weighted gpa and the ability to conduct service in the community, including tutoring. Since becoming a NHS member, I have been tutoring underclassmen along with middle school students, specifically in math. I have been tutoring for about 1 year now, completely volunteer, and I constantly look forward to helping another student improve their academic skills.
I am currently enrolled in Calculus and AP Chemistry for science/math related courses. However, I am taking 4 AP classes this year alone and I have taken 7 over my high school career. Other math/science classes I have already taken include Algebra 1, Algebra 2 (trigonometry and geometry included), Pre-Calculus, and AP Physics.

I first like to get to know the student and understand what they are currently learning, along with their learning style and even their hobbies! Getting to know the overall student is extremely important compared to just knowing about their cirriculum. As we progress, a routine will be set in place that fits the students needs, and the student and I will continue to change and edit parts of how lessons are conducted in order for the student to understand the material best. Every student learns differently, therefore each lessons plan is different and will be developed in collaboration with the student, not just myself.
Consistantly, I will review homework assignments with students, help students catch up on missing assignments, and continue to improve their connection with the material.

Details
As a high school student, I am aware that I am not as skilled as someone with a degree in a specific field. However, I do believe that because I am in high school, I will be able to relate to the student best and therefore give them the best chance at success.
$15.00/hour will be my starting rate. However, I am extremely flexible and my main goal is to begin working with other students.
