About Divya

I'm a 26 year old engineer working at Medtronic who is passionate about helping students overcome their struggles in math. I have 12 years of experience and have had great success tutoring students ranging from preschool to college.

I began tutoring in 9th grade at Kumon (Math and Reading Tutoring Center) where I would tutor multiple students up to 18 years old in math topics ranging from basic counting to college-level calculus. I was then hired by Arizona State University to became a private tutor for the student-athletes to help them maintain a high GPA and academic eligibility. Subjects ranged from remedial algebra to calculus I. Overall, I have 13 years of experience tutoring and can tutor any age.

I know from personal experience how challenging math can be. This is why I tutor so that I can show my students not to fear math and gain the confidence that they need so that math can actually be a pleasant experience. I learned to not fear math and majored in I specialize in tutoring the following areas in math: elementary math, pre-algebra, algebra 1, algebra 2, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and calculus I. I also specialize in college level math: remedial math, pre-algebra, algebra 1 and 2, pre-calculus, and calculus I.

My goal for each session is to help the student master the concepts in his or her class. During the first session, the student and I will create a study schedule outlining all his or her homework, tests, and review sessions. I will also go over their mistakes in previous tests and create review sessions for upcoming tests.

I look forward to hearing from you and helping you master and develop a passion for math.

About the lesson

I like to schedule a 15-30 minute free consultation getting to know my student and his/her needs. After discussing them their requirements, I usually let the student know whether I am the best tutor for them and ask if they would like to schedule our first session.
