About Michael
I'm a recent graduate of a public university in Connecticut and an incoming MD medical student for Fall 2024. Leading up to applying for medical school, I took the MCAT and scored in the 90th percentile for Biology/Biochemistry.
I've tutored K-12 math & science for 1 year, tutored several college biology classes for 1 year, and taught adult education and literacy classes for 3 years. My approach to tutoring centers around optimizing students' learning styles. I introduced learning tools such as molecular model kits for chemistry, flashcards for anatomy using Anki (a free flashcard program) and interactive animations for microbiology. My goal was to help students find success independently because, if tutoring became a crutch, students could not realistically carry it over to exams, which require independence.
