About McKenna
I have been working privately with students in the fine arts for 6+ years. I love working with children, and giving them the confidence they need to be successful! I tutored in college as well, so I have a wide age range of experience. I look forward to helping your child grow!
I learned to be a good teacher from my mom. Her passion for kids was really inspiring when I was young. I want to help kids enjoy school and enjoy the process of learning!
My mother is a teacher in both English and fine arts. Watching her helped me find a love for helping kids. I started helping students privately at 14, and transitioned to be a tutor in my college.

I like to get to know what my kids enjoy out side of school so I can better relate to them. Are they a big Vampirina fan? Let's do some creative writing about her. Do they love baby shark? I'll write out math problems with those themes. I like to hide school work in things the kids recognize, that way they want to learn!
Predominately I work with ages 8-13!
Find a teacher you connect with. You want to be with someone who makes you feel engaged and gives you genuine tools that help when the teacher isn't there!
Under the current climate, I have had a lot of students come to me scared and with questions. I feel very thankful that trust me and I want to be that safe space for them. I want to keep encouraging kids to ask questions and know that I will be there for them 100%.
