About Nathan

Hello everyone! My name is Nathan. I graduated cum laude from the University of California, Irvine with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. I found a love for tutoring stemming from helping my special needs brother with school work when we were very young. Coming from a family of 1st generation immigrants, I had the honor of making sure that my brother was getting the help he needed outside of the class room. From then, I took on tutoring on opportunities as early as the age of 11 in elementary school. Along with tutoring programs in high school at the local elementary school. And throughout my college career prepping students for AP exams and the SAT’s

My passion from tutoring comes from helping others reach that blissful moment of understanding. Through this, I enjoy helping students reach their full potential. Often times it’s not a lack of knowledge and that keeps us from achieving, it’s a lack of understanding the fundamentals of a subject. I will adapt to each and every students tutoring needs as we don’t all learn in the same manner. While also going the extra mile and using my resources to ensure a quality learning experience. I am open to suggestions and criticism, after all, this is a learning environment for both student and tutor.

I have taking math courses up to calculus 2 and excelled in math through my educational career. My love for math comes from a high school calculus teacher of mine who would always break down the subject to ensure understanding.

I majored in Biology for my undergrad career at the University of California, Irvine. This major required me to take rigorous biology and chemistry courses. Both subjects I am very well versed in.

I have been playing saxophone since I was 13 years old. So about 11 years now. I own a saxophone and can perform passages for a student along with teaching them how to read music and rhythm.
