About Arlesia
I am a former graduate from Harvard University where I double-majored in Music and Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology with an interest in Medicine. I currently obtained my Master’s degree in Performance Studies from New York University (NYU) at the Tisch School of Performing Arts. I went to high school at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts where I studied Piano, Voice, and Medicine.
I am extremely passionate about education and making higher education opportunities available for those who aren’t easily able to access it. Everyone should have a chance to be the best they can be! My tutoring specialties range from Essay Writing, College Admissions Preparation, Speech and Debate, English Language Acquisition, Humanities, Biology, Entrepreneurship, Math and anything Music related!
I have earned various academic and artistic awards with a few being the Presidential Award for Exceptional Academic Achievement, The Outstanding Achievement Award at the NYU Entrepreneur Lab, and the Richard T. Greener Award for increasing diversity in the arts at Harvard University. I am also the CEO of my startup, ClassiX, which aims to provide a Classical Fine Arts Education to those who are in need.
I started teaching at an independent contracting tutoring agency called SetSail LLC, where I was the Head instructor for international students and worked on curriculum development for ELA learning and College interview preparation. I also taught the fundamentals of the English Language and introduced the best practices for Speech and debate elements and tactics.
Doing so has inspired me to continue teaching with different tutoring platforms and further incorporate my practices!
I have a double Bachelor's degree from Harvard University in Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology and Masters Degree in Performance Studies from New York University

I will first have a consultation session with the student, to assess his or her needs and tailor my services to what the student may need.
I have worked with students of all ages, with my youngest student being 8 and my oldest student being 18. Most of these students were also international students.
Make sure you have a consultation to determine whether you connect with the teacher! It is very important to have a teacher who not only understands your work, but understands you.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What are your overall goals for the subject you are studying? What specifically are you having trouble with or is challenging to you (the more specific the better you will receive services)?

I loved working with Arlesia! I’ve worked with her for years. I found her when I was struggling with essay writing in 7th grade. She has a keen eye for grammar, syntax and writing flow. When I don’t really get her corrections she always gives me context and examples. She also uses a lesson plan to keep track of my progress.
For the most part, she was always able to edit and help me with my work without taking out my voice from the writing. I would always come to her for persuasive letters, scholarship applications, and school essays. I’m in 12th grade now and I can sure say working with her has paid off! Would highly recommend!Arlesia was always on time to our meetings. She was always prepared with a lesson plan of the things we were going to learn. She was very thorough in explaining things. At the end of each part of the lesson, she would always ask me if I understood everything. Whenever I had any questions, she would listen to what I had to say and help me get to the root of my question. It always felt so easy to learn new things with her.
