About Gabriela

As an experienced mathematics educator for over 25 years in the high school and college environments, I developed a passion and personal commitment to help students succeed.

My goal with every student is to foster a genuine interest that leads to success in studying Mathematics.

As a teacher, there is no greater feeling than helping students realize their potential, and I look forward to helping your student successfully achievehis/her next goal in Mathematics.

About the lesson

My goal is to make math more accessible, more engaging, and more relevant. This has guided me over the years as I sought to learn from my students and gain insights into how they learn.

Creating a warm, welcoming, and fun educational environment is essential to breaking down the barriers of learning math. I am here to make math more accessible because learning comes from asking questions, not just finding the answers.

A student being engaged is only part of the equation. A teacher making math more engaging is another part. It is my responsibility as a teacher to make math more engaging by being enthusiastic and sharing stories, whether historical or anecdotal, that help students make important connections.

I would be dishonest if I did not admit that I have had students ask me “why do I have to know this?” or comment “I will never have to use this in life.” However, I have learned throughout my teaching that by making math more accessible and engaging, students are better able to see its relevance.

I will make the student feel comfortablle with the mathematical concepts and help him/her to build confidence in mathematics.
