About Wyatt

My goal is to help individuals understand and find fulfillment in STEM field subjects to empower them to succeed on their own. I intend to use this passion to help answer your questions and make the abstract, concrete by employing a 3-step process: diagnose, derive, and define. In school, I found that many instructors went straight into defining what something was, but rarely provided the why or the how. With this procedure, I diagnose where the student is having specific trouble, derive the abstract concept through simple examples and guidelines, and finally define what the idea entails and its purpose in solving other more complicated equations.

As a mechanical engineer at a design firm, I am constantly exposed to calculation and sophisticated concepts associated with the world around us. This allows for retention of mathematical and physical problems learned within the classroom. I also continue and have tutored students on weekends and weeksdays in algebra, SAT prep, AP physics, geometry and other technical courses.

I enjoy seeing the student grasp the concept and find the confidence within themselves to tackle any other math problem.

I have been tutoring consistently the past 2 years and work as a mechanical engineer at a design firm in Baltimore. I have a degree in honors mechanical engineering from the University of Delaware where I graduated Cum Laude.

About the lesson

I employ a 3-step process: diagnose, derive and define. Diagnose the student's misunderstandung, derive the concept through simple explanations and guidelines, and define the purpose of the mathematical idea and how it fits into the big picture.

I have worked with students in 6th grade up to 1st-year college students.

Make sure the tutor is patient and willing to take the extra step to explain every confusing detail.
