Peg is a respected tutor in our community. They are highly recommended for their commitment and the quality of their lessons. An excellent choice to progress with confidence.
About Peg
Tutoring sessions are highly interactive as I engage the student in thoughtful reasoning and analysis. I stretch the student's thinking. And make it enjoyable. I use techniques and methods honed over ten years teaching math to middle school and high school students.
Two aspects of learning are critical: understanding of underlying concepts and good study and test prep skills.
As a tutor, I combine these together to help my students increase understanding and knowledge, improve study habits and build confidence. I am adept at accommodating personal learning styles and communicate often with parents.
I tutor all high school Math subjects and ACT/SAT test prep. Geometry specialist.
I have the "teacher gene" and love working with young people. I pride myself on doing a nice job of keeping things light and encouraging while making progress toward goals.
Inspired by Algebra 2/Trig teacher in high school.
I have a BS and an MS in Math Education and have taught for 10 years. I've been tutoring test prep and math courses for 5 years.

I like to start out with personal introductions to establish a rapport and get the student talking and comfortable.
I outline the ground rules: materials, cancellation policy, assignments, communication to parents, format of sessions, etc. and take questions.
I ask a lot of open-ended questions to probe for issues, attitude, strengths and weaknesses in subject matter, accommodations, study habits, personal organization and test-taking skills.
Parents are invited to join for these first ten minutes.
For math tutoring, we will start by reviewing a recent test, quiz or homework. Test prep students take a practice test before the first meeting. I use this exercise to assess current skill status and needs.
I encourage the student to take the lead and be responsible for his/her learning and subject matter understanding.
Then, we’re off and running. And we have some fun while we’re at it.
Honors, regular, double block. Failing students, straight A students. Middle school, high school, college students and adult learners. Students with poor/great study and homework habits. Students with lots of extracurricular, students with none. Students preparing for ACT/SAT/PSAT/GED/ASVAB exams. Students with an IEP or a 504 plan. Students with ADHD, auditory processing, speech delay, spatial reasoning, PTSD, etc. challenges.
Find someone who knows how to teach, not one who is just really good at math.
I recently helped a student improve his grade from an F to a C in 3 weeks. He is now working on raising it to a B. He has improved his study habits and test performance. His confidence has soared and his mom and I just agreed to pare back to one session per week.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out

Perfect! Peg helped both my daughter and son with ACT prep in a short window. Both reached their goals of improving their scores - my daughter by 3 points! Peg gives great concrete strategies personalized to each student, and she helps build confidence, which is so important. Would highly recommend her!
Perfect! Peg is an outstanding tutor. We hired her to help with Trig and Pre-Calc and she made a huge difference in our daughter's understanding of the material and success in the class. Our daughter loved working with Peg. She really enjoyed her time with her and had fun at their tutoring sessions. Peg cares about her students, shares great strategies for math success and can often provide other helpful ways to approach math problems besides the ways taught in class. Peg is great and we highly recommend her.
Perfect! Ms. Reid was a dynamo! She helped my struggling student master the concepts she was missing to succeed. She also was very kind - something that kids who are feeling negative about themselves and their skills in math - need very much. She was flexible, was able to pace and adjust lesson plans to maximize results, and was a good partner in my daughter's math journey. A+!
Perfect! Peg didn't just teach our son content; she also taught him study skills that he can apply to other subject areas. She was very good about keeping us informed about how our son was doing.
Perfect! Peg was very responsive to my initial inquiry. She is very accommodating with scheduling and provides a detailed post-session report each week.
Perfect! We’ve known Ms Reid for a year now, we started when our daughter struggled as a freshman in high school, after a confusing period with hybrid classes during Covid. She started with a positive attitude, a calm demeanor and strong skills, assessed the situation and built the best strategy to work with my daughter . I’ve noticed that my kid’s confidence was boosted right away and her grades started going up steadily . We are very grateful to Mrs Peg for her dedication, talent, patience and knowledge. She’s the best teacher and we highly recommend her !
Perfect! Peg is great! Since starting tutoring with Peg my sons geometry grade has gone from failing to passing with a B. She is very knowledgeable in multiple math concepts. She communicates well with the student and parent, takes any suggestions into consideration and does her best to accommodate her students.
Perfect! Very nice and understanding!
Perfect! Peg has completely turned my son's attitude and grades in Geometry around. I hired her after my son did miserably on his first unit test. He had several sessions with Peg prior to the retake and got a perfect score on the retake.
He now has an A in the class and is no longer stressed about the homework and tests. Peg is patient, knowledgeable, and a perfect fit as a tutor for my son. I never expected that a tutor could make a difference as quickly and painlessly as Peg has!Perfect! The most incredible tutoring experience one could have ever experienced. Period. Too many incredible qualities....spend a fraction more and get mountains in return. There is not one single reason one should look any further!! Period! (I've been told I'm not easily impressed... and I would have to agree).
Perfect! She works very well with my daughter. I like her style of teaching. She is very knowledgeable about algebra and the different exams given to middle /high school students.
She defines the math terms so that she can better understands the concept of why she is doing the problem that particular way.
She has a quiet friendly personality. I would recommend her to others.Perfect! Peg is the best tutor we have ever used, and sadly we have used many. She is methodical and patient. She takes meticulous notes so that she can work on the underlying concepts that need to be reviewed in addition to the current topics. Highly recommend.

My dad and I had been searching for an SAT tutor for a while, and it wasn’t easy to find the right fit—until we met Peg. In just a few months, she helped me raise my score from a 1100 to a 1270, and honestly, that improvement alone speaks for itself about how great she is.
Peg was so sweet, patient, and easy to work with. She made every session feel comfortable and even enjoyable. She’s also really personable—she’d ask about what was going on in my life and actually remember, which made me feel like she cared about me beyond just test prep.
She really went out of her way to help me. Normally, her tutoring plan is 15 weeks, but since I needed to take the SAT in August, she adjusted her schedule so we could meet twice a week instead of once. She was also super flexible—if I couldn’t meet in person, we’d just switch to Zoom without any hassle.
We covered everything from grammar and vocabulary to algebra, and she made sure to focus on my weaknesses while still building on my strengths. Time management was a big challenge for me, and thanks to her strategies and all the practice, I was able to make real progress. She gave me the right balance of support and a little push to stay motivated without feeling stressed.
And honestly, her dogs are the cutest—definitely a bonus! I’m so glad we found Peg. She made such a difference for me, and I’d absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a tutor who’s not just great at what they do but also kind and supportive. 😊Peg helped our daughter with preparation for her ACT not only in identifying the best test to take - SAT vs ACT and improving her score, but in helping reduce test anxiety plus identifying learning opportunities and solutions that presented themselves during the tutoring. Peg was assertive in her instruction and tutoring while caring about our daughter's life success in addition to her test scores. We highly recommend Peg if you son or daughter needs a professional tutor.
My daughter really enjoyed working with Peg on her ACT. She was able to raise her English score by 7 points! She is very patient and will structure the lesson to best suit her student.
Extremely smart affable and very very patient. She absolutely sees the best in every kid. Knows math at all levels and can teach anyone to love and understand math!
Peg is knowledgeable and she knows what she is doing. Her passion is noticeable and she goes beyond tutoring expectations
She’s the best teacher, she evaluates exactly what your student has to study and hits the specific subjects that your students needs to learn and teaches techniques on how to answer the test questions . She is very efficient and knowledgeable tutor in different fields.
Peg is a WONDERFUL tutor!!! She made a world of difference in my teen’s journey to achieving her diploma. Her energy, patience, and empathy was remarkable. Her encouragement was so well-received. We recommend Peg highly!!!!!!
I would like to commend Peg for being an excellent tutor. I found Peg to be very honest as she advised me of the topics that I really need to study and the topics that there was no need to. As an older learner Peg explained math subjects to me using real life examples that I could visualize which made learning easier for me. After Pegs math lessons I passed my math placement test for one of the community colleges. I work full time and Peg was very adaptable to my schedule. I would highly recommend Peg as she has a great understanding of students challenges when it comes to Math.
The best!
Peg is very helpful and patient with my teenager. I appreciate her thorough and positive approach very much.
Peg was an amazing match for my teenage sons. She is professional, prompt and "no-nonsense" in the best kind of way. She enforced the importance of accountability with their schoolwork while helping them set short and long-term academic goals. Peg is by far the best tutor we have worked with and I Vwould give her 6 stars if I could (and so would the high school math teacher!)
Peg was outstanding with our 16 year old HS junior. She was thorough, focused, and got him to do the work! He met his goal and was thrilled. What was nice is that it felt like Peg was as excited about his results as he was. An excellent experience.
Peg was phenomenal working with my daughter on her ACT prep. My daughter actually looked forward to her time with Peg and Peg was very patient, encouraging and made learning an enjoyable experience. My daughter has learning issues and has numerous tutors and extra instruction. Peg was by far the best. Additionally, Peg was able to help my daughter increase her score by 7 points. When my daughter was accepted to her top choice, Peg was the first person she wanted to call.
My daughter worked with Peg for many weeks and her confidence soared. Her understanding of how to approach test questions in the ACT has continued into the classroom.
The College Entrance Exam preparation was extensive. Reid Enterprises reviewed all areas of the ACT test with my student. His strengths and weaknesses were identified through these exercises and focus was placed on areas that would improve his score. We were very happy with the end result. His ACT score is where he wants it to be. He has already been accepted into the college that is his first choice and it's only September.
One professional attribute that made a difference with our son was the approach Reid Enterprises took with him. The experience was positive and would build up our son's confidence in academic areas. Reid Enterprises has a special way of reinforcing what a student already knows and building on that knowledge. Our son looked forward to his ACT preparation sessions.View more recommendations
