About Chrystal

I teach online painting step-by-step with instructions via digital access and give you a lesson via zoom. I show you every step on how to complete from start to finish in the the comfort of your home. I have been doing tutorials for almost 3 years now and have been painting most of my life. I also do a lot of door hanger and craft tutorials showing techniques and DIY projects. I have had lots of training online in using different techniques and mostly have been self taught over the years. I have a Master's in Psychology and once was a teacher assistant, so I love to teach others, especially kids. Also, I do in-person events teaching other people how to paint step-by-step designs in groups of more than five people at a time only part-time and mostly I do painting tutorial and teaching others online. My hope is that I help others learn how to cultivate their own creative in a fun way. That is the goal at the end of the lesson is to know that the student had fun and created something they really truly enjoyed doing!

I love to see how my students create so different than each other. When my students are painting. I can see the process and how they are thinking of what to do next and also think of what colors to use next. Not everyones design comes out to be the same at the end. The end result of the painting are all unique, that is why I am so passionate about painting and that is why I enojy teaching those to paint. It's something about creating something that is yours that truly makes it special.

I use to be a teacher assistant working with learning disability students and I loved my job so much. However, I ended up loving art more, so decided to start my own busniess doing painting tutorials and teaching others step-by-step ways of painting.

I have a Master's in Pyschology, which for my does not have much to do with painting, however it has everything to do with human interaction and interacting with my students is so important. I believe in a way it relates in it's own way.

About the lesson

I like to work in a group, however working 1:1 is okay with me too. The process of working with a new student is making it clear that if they have any questions or need me to slow down in the beginng of our painting lesson to let me know because I may go a little bit faster than most and If there is a step that I need to go back to, to let me know and I will be happy to repeat the step for them. I try to make sure that the student understand that I am there to help them through the painting process and that it's okay to ask questions. I usually ask them what their name is and ask them a little bit about them and what they like about art and if there is any particular artist they like. I try to get to know my student to help break the ice, so we can have fun painting and learning how to paint what we are painting.

I worked with elementary students, grades kindergarden to fifth grade. I also worked in pre-k and daycare for a while and did a lot of arts and crafts with the smaller children. I have also taught young and older adults.

If you were looking for a teacher to teach you to paint, find one that is going to have fun and to allow you to express yourself. Learning is not about being serious all the time. It is about knowing where your light's and your darks are, yes, I agree, however it's also about who you are as an artist and discovering yourself through art. Find someone who allows you to discover something about you. Allows you to explore the colorful palette of this thing we call life of art because true art comes within our soul. Soulful art is truly something magnificent and powerful. It can be only taught by someone who is truly passionate, so I think that if you are looking for to hire a teacher it should be that person with that fire in their heart.

Recently, I did a tutorial for a painting design of an owl sitting on stacked pumpkins. I really enjoyed doing this one because it challenged me to paint an owl. It was a great challenge, and I had a great time figuring out how to use my brushes and showing how to use my brushes just the right way to get the right texture on for my feathers on my owl. It was a great experience.

I charge a flat fee $10 for each lesson. This comes with everything you need. Supply list, written out instruction to follow along with me on zoom or I have a yearly membership of $115 with one lesson a month and extra perks, such as freebies each month and contest. It's just a fun way to interact with other students who love art too and paint together.
