About Deborah

I have been working as a professional artist for the past 18 years. I can state with all confidence that my artwork stands alone and the fine art arena.

My paintings are collected worldwide and are prominently included in private and corporate collections. I am regarded as a master of my craft with a vision inspired by the principles of fractals and a technique rooted in the style of the Dutch Master artists. My paintings have been recognized with awards and have been accepted into numerous museum exhibitions including the Boca Raton museum of Art, the Platt / Bornstein Galleries at American Jewish University in Los Angeles, and the Williamsburg (Brooklyn, NY)Art & Historical Center. They have been widely published in journals; have graced the covers and inside pages of noteworthy art books and interior design magazines including Art and Antiques, Florida Design, Luxe Magazine, and Architectural Digest.

When I'm not painting I love talking with people and sharing my knowledge. I am a visiting lecturer, educator, and art consultant. I conduct private tours of the international art fairs focusing on the trends in the contemporary art market. I also do private tours of museums with the focus on looking at the art through the eyes and mind of an artist.

I am a long-standing member of the National Association of Women Artists and the Cultural Council of the Palm Beaches. for 10 years I served as the chairperson for Art in PublicP for the City of West Palm Beach.

I love the connection with the artist when they discover something new! Whether their favorite subject is landscape, still life, portraiture or nature I will help them discover the artist within; re-invigorate their creativity; and teach them more about color - color theory, color interaction, color mixing, and glazing - to help the individual reach ytheir personal goals with their art.

I got started by helping students with color; something that so many students struggle with.

I studied textile print design in college, and worked for over 20 years in the industry; this is where my innate sense of color was highly developed. I've studied with several accomplished acredited art teachers at the Armory Art Center, and have taken a number of master artist workshops. I am proud to have been mentored by Gordon Parks and considered him a good friend.

About the lesson

My goal is to bring out the best that is within each artist whether a novice, or one who has some level of accomplishment. I like to see the previous work that the artist has done, then discuss their goals.

Students of various degrees of accomplishment.

Look for a connection with the teacher. Does the teacher's method fit with your goals.

Wathcing the 'light-bulb' go on, the excitement on their face when they discover the effects of glazing, and the impact on the painting.
