About Wally
I'm Wally, a Beloit College and UMass Amherst graduate with a decade's experience tutoring all sorts of college students in philosophy, from nontraditional students taking an introductory class at community college to student athletes reading the classics at Notre Dame.
I have experience as:
- A Content Tutor with the University of Notre Dame's Academic Services for Student Athletes
- A TA and Instructor at UMass Amherst
- A peer tutor at Beloit College and Highland Community College
I'm passionate about meeting students where they are, understanding their particular difficulties and strengths, and collaboratively finding a way forward through the material, step by step. Past a piece of difficult reading material, a complicated question about logic, or an open-ended writing prompt, there are all sorts of opportunities for self-reflection, insight, and personal accomplishment. I'm always eager to support anyone toward those goals, one step at a time.
