About Kayla
I have four years of experience tutoring elementary and middle school students in subjects including Reading, Grammar, Common Core Math, General Science, and Social Studies. I have also worked with high school students to improve their Algebra and Chemistry skills. Working one on one with these students allows me to develop different teaching styles based on a student's experience, existing knowledge, and learning style. I know that there is no one size fits all approach to learning, which is why I always gauge my students' mindset before a tutoring lesson. This can involve check ins, where I ask about what they learned in school that week, how they feel about the subject matter, and what specific aspects they are struggling with.
