About Maxwell
I have years of experience playing solo piano, accompaniment with wind instruments, and piano in large ensembles. I spent 4 years in the Houston High School Wind Ensemble, 2 years playing synthesizer for the Houston Indoor Drumline, and I now play the piano for the Western Carolina University Wind Ensemble as well as the WCU Symphonic Band. I have also taken (and am currently enrolled in) music theory, aural skills, and methods classes at WCU.

I will start students off with the basics of how they hold themselves while playing; preventing shoulder tension, where their elbows should sit, what their hands should look like while playing. After teaching the physical part of piano, we will start working on reading and playing sheet music. Scales, arpeggios, and cadences will be fundamental in my teaching.
