About Richard
Energetic, knowledgeable, and skilled piano instructor with positive energy and a flexible desire to cater to individual students specific strengths and needs. Enjoys working with students of all ages and creating lesson plans that celebrate the joy in performance while emphasizing the importance of technique and musicality. I believe every person has a unique musician inside them, and that the way to nurture that musician is different for each individual. I enjoy meeting new people, getting to know what music excites them and helping them find their own musical voice.
I have been playing piano for 26 years. I am a multi instrumentalist who also is proficient with guitar, bass, guitar, and drum kit. My experience includes live performance in various bands and theatrical productions, composition for film and television, and teaching private lessons. I am also the primary caregiver of twin three year olds and very much enjoy working with children of all ages. I have a bachelors degree in theatre performance and so am a very theatrical person who enjoys making his lessons exciting and interesting.
