About Benjamin

Hi!

My name is Ben. I am knowledgeable and passionate about history and U.S. Government policy. I can help high school students with better understanding our system of government and getting better results on essays and quizzes!

I have experience helping my peers when I was in high school. I also helped my U.S. history teacher out with explaining concepts in a fun and understandable manner. I am a kind and patient tutor. I understand that some students may need a little extra time and explanation to get a concept. If you are looking for a knowledgeable and patient tutor you have come to the right place!

I enjoy helping students become better selves. I enjoy seeing a student have an "A ha!" moment. I do not give answers out. I help the student come to the answer through encouraging critical thinking and doing mental exercises such as reviewing material, practice quizzes and practice responses.

I am a natural teacher. I am very passionate about history and more specifically United States history and Government. I helped out a lot of my classmates in high school with studying for quizzes and reviewing their essays. I enjoy watching people learn and having their "A ha!" moments. I do not give out answers, I help my students find the answers through their own critical thinking and knowledge they may have regarding the subject matter.

I graduated high school. In my high school history classes I would help my peers out with their essays in peer reviews. I also helped my teachers out by talking about different lessons they could do, and sometimes helping them out with the lesson or post lesson activities. I am also very familiar with the U.S. History Regents Exam. I can help with essays, school tests and regents exams.

About the lesson

I will get to know the student and learn about what they want to get out of our sessions. We will focus on their goals and ways to achieve those goals.

I have worked with peers from my high school. I have worked with all sorts of learners. I am patient and understanding that we are all different learners. This is my first time doing online tutoring. Although this is my first time, I am professional. I start on time, am a clear communicator, and am good at finding solutions even in hard or adverse conditions.

I would advise a student talk to a prospective teacher. Get to know them a little. See if your personalities click. It can be rough, and maybe not work if the student and the tutor do not click. I would always recommend talking via phone before taking on the task.

I am an avid SCUBA diver. I recently got to SCUBA dive in the worlds deepest pool in Padua, Italy. This pool is 137 feet deep and contains 1,136,000 gallons of fresh geothermally heated water!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think students should think about what issues they are having in class. If a student for example, has issues understanding what the 3 branches of the Federal Government does, they should be specific about this issue. The student should also have an idea about their goals. What do you want to get out of talking to your teacher? I think if the student knows how to articulate these essential things, they will get the assisstance they need.

I price my lessons at $30 per hour, but I am willing to negotiate a little based on who I am working with. I am friendly and easy going. I do understand that we are in difficult times.
