About Fabio

Brazilian Portuguese teacher, within 8 years of experience teaching students through private lessons. I use my own method to teach Brazilian Portuguese that includes language and cultural guidance for just about any situation imaginable. Using humor and personal experience, the method gives the foreigner learner of Portuguese several language options in order to come across in just the right way, be it funny, serious, light, formal, colloquial or business-like. The only requirement is that you know English. I will do the rest.

Each lesson has 45 minutes, however, I suggest 90 minutes (2 lessons) each time, twice a week.

The 90-minutes lesson is divided into 3 parts of 30 minutes each, as follows:

1st part. Grammar and Vocabulary;

2nd part. A conversation about the homework(*);

3rd part. You will read your homework (*) will be an essay with 15 lines. I will check your pronunciation and correct the essay with you.

Homework consists of watching a Brazilian Soap opera and an essay with 15 lines. In this case, you will receive a login and password to watch through the internet.

The 45-minutes lesson is divided also at the same 3 parts, in this case, 15 minutes each, but without the homework of watching a Brazilian Soap Opera. In this case, the homework will be only an essay with 15 lines.

What I most enjoy is when my students start to speak without fear of commit mistakes. I try to break the ice, in order to let the student feel like a "toggle" learning to speak his/her own language, as the process is almost the same. By only committing mistakes you will be able to speak any language, so the motto is "no fear".

I was living in Portugal in 2009 and was unemployed due to a very serious European economic crisis, and a Russian friend of mine asked me to teach her Brazilian Portuguese. She loved my method and made a referral for her friend, that made a referral for another friend .. and in 6 months I was teaching for many than 12, of a Russian Comunity based in Lisbon with knowledge of English.

Bachelor in Communication, Scrip-writing and Management.

About the lesson

My method is divided into 30 modules. The new students will take a test, and will be classified into:

- Basic I and II (10 modules).

- intermediate I and II (10 modules)

- Advanced I and II (10 modules)

I used to give Portuguese lessons to Russian and American expatriates, working in Hospitals and big companies.

First of all, analyze the method the teacher uses. No way to learn Portuguese without proposing the structure and method of the lessons.

I was the touristic guide of a group of 10 Americans in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil.
