About Erica

Hello, my name is Erica Kang. I am currently a graduate student at Brenau University studying Clinical Counseling Psychology. I really enjoy this field and would love to help you find joy in learning this subject as well. I am confident in essay writing as well as helping you catch the things that professors want from your writing. I can also help you figure out what they want from you in class.

It's very important to be a strong, concise, and moving writer and I can help you with that. I believe that everyone has the ability to express themselves but they may not have the tools yet to express exactly what they want through writing.

I also enjoy the process of learning and how humble you become as a learner.I hope to share the joy of learning with you.

I tutored English speaking to Korean students in college, taught an ESL class to native Spanish speakers, and was reminded of how much I enjoyed teaching. I really love seeing the brightness in students' eyes when they learn something new and feel confident about what they are learning.

I have also been moved by what my students taught me. I think of it more as mutual learning rather than just me being the teacher.

I had an English professor in college who told us that he has read "Hamlet" 50 times but that he wanted to hear how our interpretation might be different. I am still moved when I think of those words. I think that is one of the many beautiful things about learning. Everyone can give different perspectives and learn from each other no matter how many times they have read the same material.

I have been blessed to meet many moving teachers and I hope you pass that blessing onto you as well.

About the lesson

First, I would like to know what you want help with the most. That could be essay writing, participating in class, learning that material, or understanding how to take an exam. It is most important to figure out what you want to learn so that it is most efficient for you and also so that the learning becomes fun for you. With that information I can figure out the direction that we need to go.

Then, we will need to look at the material that you would like to work on, dissect the information, and then the lessons begin.
