About Matthew
I am a current college student embarking on what should be my senior year. I am pursuing a degree in psychology and with my age and level in college, I will use my relatability and my passion for psychology to help teach others whatever it is they wish to know. I owe my life experiences to my desire for psychology because as a kid growing up I have watched relatives struggle with mental disability and disorders, thus this made me desire to look deeper into mental health and psychology. Above all I mostly desire the accomplishments and achievements of guiding other students and younger generations into psychology with more relatability and better understanding on how to teach them this subject.
What I enjoy about the work I do is helping students gain better understandings of concepts they have difficulty with. It is also very fulfilling to hear from students and their parents or teachers on the progress the students make as well. The overall goal is to have fun tutoring and to help students learn subjects with little to no difficulty and to do well on tests.
I have studied psychology for almost 4 years, focusing on theories of personality, psychosocial disorders, abnormalities in psychology and much more. I also have done well in my own studies and have finished college courses with A's in these subjects but i take psychology to a deeper level because I look further into terms and concepts.

Typical processes for working with a new student. We begin with a little meet and greet type of process where we establish a relationship and learn about each other. Next I provide a short small assesment to observe what the students know based on their age, level of education, and experience in the subject. Then after the assessment, we will begin with a short lesson on the beginnings of psychology and the origins.
