About Bruce

You have a story to tell. But how? I have written over 25 full-length screenplays, had seven of my plays produced onstage in New York City, wrote for The Daily Show and Late Night with David Letterman, won four Virginia Associated Press awards, one for Best Inveswtigative Journalism and I'm the winner of the Virginia Governor's Screenwriting award. I know as much about writing as any ten writers alive. I can show you the fundamentals of writing, help you develop your craft and give you the tools to become a top-flight professional screenwriter.

People kept approaching me to help them so I figured I may as well put it out there and see if others need my help.

Studied screenwriting at Sherwood Oaks Experimental College and the Writers and Artists Workshop.

Wrote for The Daily Show, Late Night with David Letterman and was a journalist, winning four Virginia Associated Press awards. Also had seven of my plays produced in New York City and won the Virginia Governor's Screenwriting Award in association with the Virginia Film Festival.

About the lesson

First I like to talk with you, get to know you better, your passions and why you want to be a writer. Next, I introduce you to the overarching structure of writing so you can see the big picture and understand that there's light at the end of the tunnel. I will also get you writing as quickly as possible, starting with scene structure. I will then work with you on your first story, shaping it so it can be managed coherently and converted into a workable idea. We will then launch you into full-scale writing!

All levels from beginners to seasoned veterans, stand-up comics looking to turn an idea into a film, actors looking to broaden their skill sets, producers wanting to understand a part of their industry.

You don't need anyone to teach you this. You can figure it out on your own through trial and error. But if you want to avoid a slew of mistakes and get to the next level in weeks instead of years, I highly recommend you seek out a professional.
