About Ginger
I’ve been sewing for over 45 years. I started making my own clothes in Junior High. When I wanted something new I would get fabric from Mom’s stash and go to work.I was very proud of the white jeans and vest I made myself in the “Saturday Night Fever” 70’s. In high school ‘80 I wanted a pair of jodpur pants but they were $50! I bought the pants, made a pattern, sewed some up and took the pants back. Although I loved those pants I haven’t ever done this again. I majored custom sewing in college. It was fun to make formals for my roommates and my favorite class was pattern making. I learned what I had done wrong when I made my sisters wedding dress.
I can teach beginning and advanced sewing techniques, the flat pattern pattern method and basic upholstery methods. I love to create costumes, wedding dresses and baby quilts.
Learning a new skill can be frustrating but it’s easier when you have a cheerleader by your side. Best of all I’m always willing to do the crummy job of undoing your mistakes so you can try again!
We’ll make things YOU really want. My only agenda is to teach you the skills to bring you joy as you create.
