About Marisol

I am an L.A. Fashion designer and a FIDM Alumni. My company does Line Development, Patterns, Samples, and Small Productions. For five years I’ve been teaching sewing, I teach children from 8 years old/to adults. My work shop is located in the Los Angeles Garment District. You may see my work in the different clothing brands that I develop for other companies such as Valdecio Collection, Maebanewear, Cosmos Glamsquad, Pink Kissz; My specialty designs are sold on Melrose. I enjoy seeing how proud each student feels of themselves when they finish a project. Priceless!!

I started teaching my own daughters first. Then when their friends saw their projects they asked if they could also take sewing lessons with me. I took my classes all the way to their elementary school as an after school program.

I studied fashion design at FIDM. I worked in factories where I learned how to sew. I make sewing samples for fashion companies. And sew custom gowns for special occasions.

About the lesson

I asses their knowledge on sewing to determine their level of expertise by asking them to sew a straight stitch, To back up. To fill the bobbin. If they understand those terms and do them then they know basic sewing.

I teach from ages 8 years old and up to adult.

I would start by not committing to a long term class so that you can decide if you can learn with that person, because you need a teacher that suits your learning style. And second, make sure you can ask questions! If you feel odd asking that teacher a question, then that might not be your fit as your teacher. And last, see their work. Their work should match your goal level as a seamstress.

I charge $35 for 1 hours. Plus a $75 (non refundable) starting kit. I provide learning materials for students.
