This is my specialty and my priority.

How do I do it?

- I teach you how to build body support, which allows you to sing freely, with out any pain or tightness in your throat.

- I use a combination of rote memorization and ear training that helps you to learn your music faster and better.

- I empower you with proven techniques to manage stage fright and performance anxiety.

- I work from the inside out: I really support you so that when you sing, you start to love what you hear.

- I help you to use music as a way to manage stress from your every day life.

- I have extensive training in bel canto classical technique, as well as music theater and pop/ R&B, country and other contemporary styles:

Teaching truly brings me joy and I am dedicated to you. I exist to empower your voice.

I love to watch singers start to enjoy singing more then they ever thought they could. This is the single most rewarding part of my job as a voice teacher!

I also love to help singers find opportunities to perform. It's exciting to see them progress to better and better venues, if that is what they want.

It is also always amazing to me when singers transition from auditioning for theaters, to being in a place where theaters start contacting them!

For singers who just do it for their own edification and don't want to perform publically, I love helping them enjoy that outlet more and more.

For singers who use their voices at church or other religious congregation, I love to help them find more confidence and beauty to enrich their community with song.

I've always loved teaching! I started teaching voice in college and never stopped!

I have a masters in vocal performance from Towson University and a bachelors degree from The University of Maryland.

I did three teaching residencies in Italy, the Plasson Academy in France, as well as Middlebury College in Vermont.

I have lots of training in contemporary music as well and am highly influenced by belting technique as taught by Jeanie Lovetrie's Somatic Voice system.

I am a member of the Voice Foundation and The National Association of Teachers of Singing.

About the lesson

First we schedule a free trial lesson!

Lessons always start with posture and breathing exercises, followed by vocal exercises and scales. Once we are warmed up we begin to work on the repertoire.

Once we have completed the free trial, the student chooses a time and day that works for them for regular lessons.

Students register using a link I send them.

Opera Singers, Music Theater Singers, Pop Singers, kids and adults.

It was exciting when a student of mine came to me frustrated because she wasn't getting the roles she wanted in the local music theater circuit. Now she is literally getting calls from theaters all across the area and has to turn things down. I am so proud of her!
