About Icela

I am a vocal coach and acting teacher for young students who wish to improve their singing and performance skills, be it for competition, recitals, or auditions!

I studied at New World School of the Arts, where I recieved my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music theater, and have been studying voice with high-level voice coaches (from UM & the Sydney Opera house) from a young age.

I have performed as a professional singer, actor, and most recently was working in Madrid, Spain as a music teacher!

I enjoy sharing my love and appreciation for music performance with my students.

I have been studying voice from the young age of 13 years old, what started as a hobby (singing in school recitals, competitions, and at church) turned into my craft when I studied Music Theater at New World School of the Arts. I graduated with my Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Florida. While I love Music Theatre, and Jazz, my training is based in classical technique.

Since graduating, I have worked as a private vocal coach, a singer, actor, and most recently as a music teacher in Madrid, Spain!

About the lesson

Each class begins with simple breathing excercises to warm up the body, then we will use some physical exercises to teach the student about proper posture, and articulation. Once we have warmed up physically, we will work on vocalisation with different warm-ups and runs to stretch the voice and prepare it for singing repertoire.

Asisting the student build their repertoire is one of my specialities. I can make sure they have music that is both appropriate for their voice type, and challenging enough that they grow in their craft.

Once the student is ready to sing, and the vocal aspect of the song is perfect, I can help them look into the meaning of the song and how to disect the text so that the story comes through.
