About Gabrielle

I have been performing for over ten years, and through that journey, music has helped me discover who I am and my purpose. Singing allows me to heal hearts, bring joy to others, and tell the stories of those who cannot use their own voices. Growing up, I was once afraid to speak or share my story; my world felt dark and empty. I believed I didn’t belong—but music never judged me. It accepted me, gave me a place to express myself, and helped me find light in the darkest moments. My past taught me that perseverance and determination can take you anywhere, and that is why I sing.

As an undergraduate student at Savannah State University, I performed with several ensembles, including the Wesleyan Gospel Choir, the Savannah State University Opera Theater, and the Concert Chorale. Through these experiences, I developed strong skills in collaboration, musicianship, and leadership, serving as student director and section leader of the gospel choir and as president and section leader of the Choral Music Society. My dedication was recognized when I received the Savannah State University Young Artist Award. While our program was small, I had the opportunity to perform opera scenes from Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess and Daniel Shore’s Freedom Ride, as well as featured solos in Handel’s Messiah and Dubois’ Seven Last Words of Jesus Christ.

I went on to earn my Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Georgia Southern University, where I received the Carol A. Carter Scholarship for musicianship and academic excellence. During my studies, I performed with Southern Chorale—an international competition choir—and appeared in multiple operatic productions, including Street Scene (as Emma Jones), Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo (as Euridice, Speranza, and La Musica), and Talk Opera (as Studio). I also served as secretary for the Black Choral Association and service chairwoman for the Gamma Theta chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity for Women.

Currently, I am a middle grades choral teacher, where I specialize in training and developing adolescent voices. This role allows me to merge my passion for performance with my love of teaching. I believe in nurturing each student’s unique sound, building confidence, and helping them connect emotionally with the music they sing. My ultimate goal is to inspire my students to express themselves authentically and to leave a lasting impression on every audience they encounter.
