About Maria
Being a 2019 high school graduate, it's rather easy for my skills to be swept under the carpet. I'm here to share my passion of uplifting others and embracing their intellectual abilities.
I have been mentoring/tutoring for less than two years, but I guarantee dedication, patience, and genuine relationships with everyone I meet or encounter.
I was a member of the National Honor's Society in High School and graduated Cum Laude with a 3.8 GPA. I have participated in numerous public speeches in my community in regards to child advocacy, self-reliance, and entrepreneurship. I have recieved numerous awards from organizations such as Bean's Cafe, Bridge Builders, and YWCA.
As stated before, I love being able to help other's achieve their academic goals all-the-while expounding upon their divine potential.
It started from a very young age, I was teaching more hands-on activities such as polynesian dance, but my focus shifted eighth-grade year when I gave a public speach to my middle school about Anti-Bullying. This sparked a passion for public speaking and sharing stories with others. I love the feeling of accomplishment that comes from helping others achieve their greatest potential.
When I use to work with my mom for NuFrontier, I partook of numerous online training classes in regards to public speaking, online salesmanship, and how to network with people. Although I recently graduated in 2019, I had the opportunity to attend college classes in the summer of 2019 through TRIO Upward Bound.

I believe strongly in creating genuine relationships with those I'm working with. When I meet someone new, I try to get to know them and develop a understanding of their weaknesses so that I can better assist their strengths. A typical process includes introduction and developing that structure of trust so that the student knows they can come to me if they are struggling with anything.
I mainly have worked with 'at-risk' students who, to me, were full of potential. Their home lives usually impacted their school performance greatly, and so I was there as a genuine guide to help them re-allign their focus academically. I have also worked and mentored kids with special needs at ages ranging anywhere from 5 years old to 18 years old. I also have had experience mentoring students who came from out-of-country, basically helping them understand the basics of ESL.
If you are looking for help in regards to study skills, public speaking, or academic motivation, I feel I would be a fitting match. I may be young, but I have a few skills in my back pocket.
