About Jesse
I have been teaching data science statistics, machine learning, R programming (including Rstudio), and government for six years. I have a PhD from MIT and experience teaching students of all abilities, from advanced Google employees to high school students.
I specialize in customizing lesson plans to meet your interests. Do you like politics? We'll learn statistics by analyzing the impact of money on votes. Do you like biology? Let's conduct T tests on plants in sunlight.
My website can be found at jessetclark.net, and my google scholar profile can be found here (concealed information)
I enjoy giving others the tools that they need to succeed!
I got started teaching as an undergraduate student, where I taught discussion sessions with undergraduate students in chemistry and politics. This expanded to data science in graduate school.
I have a PhD from MIT, where I specialized in data science and politics. I have extensive experience teaching to students, from undergraduates to full professors, on a variety of topics.

I first meet with them to understand their needs and abilities. This will include a discussion on what they are having an easy time and a difficult time with, and seeing where we need to spend more time.
I then put together individualized lesson plans based on this initial meeting, and set goals for each subsequent meeting. This creates a stepped process that students can use to master the material.
I have worked with high schoolers, college students, graduate students, and professors. These have been as part of disucssion sessions, short courses, and even full semseter courses.
I would look at their communication skills and their ability to customize lesson plans. I find that many students have a difficult time in understanding the topic if they are uninterested in the example. The hallmark of a good teaching in this field is to be able to customize lesson plans based on student interests.
I am fond of a recent experience tutoring a high school student on a project on data science and politics. He took an initial course assignment and expanded it to be a whole blogging website.
