About Kennedy

Sabin Trumpet School provides high-quality, personalized trumpet instruction designed to help students grow with confidence and consistency. Founded by professional trumpet player and educator Kennedy Sabin—whose credits include over 50 million streams and work with brands like the NFL and ESPN—the program combines strong fundamentals with real-world musical insight.

Lessons focus on tone, technique, music reading, and audition preparation, while also building discipline, creativity, and a genuine love for music. Each student receives individualized guidance tailored to their goals, whether they are just starting out or preparing for advanced ensembles and auditions.

Sabin Trumpet School is committed to helping young musicians develop both skill and confidence in a supportive, professional environment.

I began a private studio in 2016 with a few students and maintained that thourgh college. I began teaching, part time, in a more formal capacity following my move to Chicago in 2020

I have a degree in Jazz Studies from Indiana University and have been an active educator for 6 years.

I am currently a brass instructor at Sistema Ravinia

As mentioned previously, I am a producer and performer and am actively working in the field.

About the lesson

We will assess your goals, your current progress, and establish a plan for addressing what we want to improve.

I have worked with 3rd-12th graders as well as underprivileged populations and students with special needs.

Be wary of outdated teaching styles. Being a modern professional musician requires a diverse toolbox of skills and you WILL be wearing multiple hats.
