About Zachary

I give trumpet lessons using the same teaching methods of my university professor and his mentors. While not the “traditional” way of learning the trumpet, Mr. Adam's method builds self confidence in players of all ages, and it always has a way of keeping you "fired up" about playing the trumpet!

Due to COVID19, I have made my studio available online via Google Duo! Please contact me if you are interested!

I enjoy seeing my students succeed. It is my job to help my students reach their goals, and when they do and are happy with their playing, that's what I enjoy the most.

I started teaching a few years ago, when I was approached by a teacher asking if I could give private lessons to one of their students, and my studio has grown a little bit each year.

I graduated from Kutztown University with my B.A. in Music: Commercial Track. The degree I hold helped me learn not only how to improve as a trumpet player, but also how to be a team player in ensembles, which is important for trumpet players so you know how you fit in and what your role is.

About the lesson

My typical process starts with getting to know the student and their playing. This helps me figure out what their strengths and weaknesses are when it comes to the trumpet, so I know what we can work on together to improve.

I have mainly worked with beginners to late elementary school students, but am able to work with high school students preparing to go to college.

My advice would be to make sure you have the time to practice material from the lesson. If you have the time to practice, even if it's for 15 minutes a day, you will see improvement. But if you don't have the time to do so, you are not going to improve as quickly as you may like.

Recently, I was able to play trumpet for a run of "Willy Wonka" for a college friend who was the music director. I really enjoyed the music for it, as well as the chance to work for a good friend.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should ask any questions related to the trumpet in my opinion. Teachers should be there to answer questions and help students understand music, whether it's a question about rhythms, trumpet fingerings, how the music goes, or if they (or their parents or school teacher) want to upgrade trumpets, what models they recommend.
