About Kathie

Are you searching for private music tutors in the area who teach violin? Kathie is one of the most talented local violin teachers who offer quality services. She has been teaching violin & viola for many years. Book her today. She has many years of experience in teaching fun and informative violin lessons for students of all ages and levels. Many of her students attend YPAS and play in LYO All State and All County orchestras. She coaches string sectionals for middle and high schools in Louisville.

I I love to teach! I help my students to be the best they can be. And to be prepared for their school orchestra, All County and All State Orchestra, Louisville Youth Orchestra, KMEA Solo Ensemble Festival, Governor's Cup,YPAS and college auditions, and whatever else they may be interested in. I teach in traditional style and include technique scales and solos in our lessons.My students are encouraged to fill out practice sheets and parental interaction is a plus. I teach beginners through adult. Ages 4 years and up. I have been teaching and performing for over 35 years.

I enjoy working with people to help them reach their goals through music. I believe that by learning to play music you learn about life.I enjoy watching my students grow as musicians and as people.I maintain relationships with my students even after they have moved on. Next year I will have three students at YPAS, two in the Manual Concert Orchestra and around 18 in LYO. One of my viola students was just accepted at both the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and U of L.I am so proud of these kids.

But I am just as proud of my 7 year old student who learned to play Twinkle. And of my adult students who are learning to play together as a quartet. I cherish my life in music.
