About Sally
I teach strings in the traditional classical way, but I also incorporate fiddling, jazz, and pop style music. I believe that the modern string player should be fluent in many musical styles, and that good technique can be taught in any genre of music.
I have a Bachelor of Music degree in Viola Performance from New England Conservatory and a Masters in Music Education from the University of New Hampshire. I have 35 years of studio teaching experience and have worked with students from age 4 through adult. I am certified to teach the Mark O'Connor Method and have also taken Suzuki workshop training to work with very young students. I taught classroom music and directed the orchestras at Berwick Academy for 20 years, and am a Past President of the NH String Teachers Association.
I love to work with students one-on-one. Each individual has a unique learning style and I enjoy getting to know my students, and helping them to experience the joy of making music.
